ErgoMove 1000 makes everyday clinical work easier

Food distribution trolleys fitted with electric drive

The customer

The St. Vinzenz rehabilitation clinic in Pfronten in Allgäu is a privately owned healthcare facility that treats patients with diseases of the musculoskeletal and cardiovascular systems. In addition to the loving care provided in the clinic, the quality of the food, which is freshly prepared every day, is particularly appreciated by patients.

The challenge

The distribution of food using trolleys sometimes requires a great deal of effort from employees. The long distances travelled from the kitchen of the affiliated acute care clinic to the rehabilitation clinic and back, which involve driving over a ramp and across uneven surfaces, make this work even more difficult.

Our solution

The aim was to relieve the clinic staff and make the ramp journeys safer and more ergonomic. Blickle quickly found the right solution for this application: the ErgoMove 1000 electric drive system. Equipped with the ergonomic cockpit with force sensors, it enables particularly intuitive operation with minimal force. After initial discussions with Blickle, the clinic tested the ErgoMove 1000 extensively on the trolley for four weeks. After the test period, the clinic staff were enthusiastic: ‘The trolley can now be moved with significantly less effort and with less risk of back injury, making everyday work easier for our employees,’ reports Julia Furtenbach, Head of Service at St. Vinzenz Clinic. ‘With the ErgoMove system, we have been able to improve employee satisfaction and who knows, maybe we will even be able to apply for a health prize with it in the near future.’
