Polyurethane facility groundbreaking
The official groundbreaking for the new polyurethane production facility at the Rosenfeld site took place on 19 March 2020.
In recent months, there have been several reasons to celebrate at Blickle: The shell of the new administration wing has been completed, and the process of moving into the new polyurethane production plant is well under way. As part of its long-term strategy, Blickle is expanding the manufacturing space in production as well as the number of office workstations. In addition, a new customer centre with staff canteen is being built at the Rosenfeld headquarters.
In March 2020, the construction company started work at Blickle and began building the polyurethane facility. The groundbreaking for the expansion of the administration building took place on 29 September 2020, and completion is planned for the start of 2023. In the coming years, Blickle expects rising demand in all product segments since ever more customers around the world are relying on the competence of the wheel and castor specialist. Especially in the area of polyurethane wheels and castors, Blickle expects above-average growth. For this reason, the production area for polyurethane manufacturing is being increased by 24,000 square metres with the new building, which offers space for roughly 100 new work stations. The production building is directly connected to the logistics centre to ensure efficient production processes. The new polyurethane competence centre contains a laboratory with state-of-the-art equipment. The over 200 new office work stations that will be provided in the administration expansion are designed as modern workspaces with spaces for withdrawing and for communicating.
Blickle plays an important role as the largest employer in Rosenfeld. Around 900 of the group’s 1,200 employees currently work at the headquarters. With the largest investment in the company’s history, Blickle has clearly signalled its commitment to during business in Germany. “The coronavirus pandemic has once again shown us that we have made the right choice with ‘Made in Germany’ quality and production by a regional workforce,” says David Blickle, Managing Partner at Blickle. “With our strong growth, we have a very high need for skilled personnel,” continues Blickle. Despite the difficult conditions, Blickle would like to continue growing in 2022, both in terms of sales and head count. Management views this prospect optimistically.
